(ECNS) -- The upper cylinder of the steel containment in the "Linglong One" reactor was put in place at Changjiang Nuclear Power Base in South China's Hainan Province on Wednesday morning, 70 days ahead of the schedule.
The overall height of the upper cylinder is about 15 meters, and the total hoisting weight is about 720 tons, the largest lifting weight in the installation.
The "Linglong One" project is under construction, indicating that China leads the world in developing and utilizing small modular pressurized water reactors.
