(ECNS) -- China's first self-developed subsea Christmas tree system was put into operation on Sunday in the Jinzhou waters of the Bohai Sea.
The tree system, which weighs 55 metric tons and consists of more than 2,500 parts, performs the function of safely isolating oil reservoirs and ensuring the safety of underground operations.
The subsea oil and gas extraction system was applied in the Jinzhou 31-1 gas filed in Bohai Sea with trial daily output of 310,000 cubic meters, able to meet the gas usage needs for 1,500 households for an entire year.
