World's oldest male giant panda An An dies at Ocean Park in Hong Kong

(ECNS) -- An An, the world's oldest male giant panda under human care, has died, the Ocean Park in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region announced Thursday.

A condolence booth was set up outside the enclosure of Hong Kong‘s Ocean Park. Many visitors came to leave messages.

An An was born in Southwest China's Sichuan Province and arrived in Hong Kong Special Administrative Region in 1999 along with female companion Jia Jia as a gift from the mainland. Jia Jia died in October 2016.
