(ECNS) -- The water level of China's largest freshwater lake Poyang Lake in Jiangxi Province continues to decline.
The aerial view of its core lake area Jinxi Lake in Jinxian County looks like a giant tree formed by sediment and water flow.
Due to high temperatures and lack of rain, China's Yangtze River Basin is experiencing a rare drought. Poyang Lake has entered the dry season ahead of schedule, setting the earliest recorded date.
