(ECNS)-- A 6.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Luding county, Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, China's southwestern Sichuan province at 12:52 p.m. Beijing Time on Monday, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 29.59 degrees north latitude and 102.08 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 16 km.
Over 6,500 rescue personnel had been dispatched as of 6 p.m. on Monday.
