Lin Shangyuan, a member of the Revolutionary Committee of the Chinese Kuomintang and veteran who participated in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, has met President Xi Jinping several times.
In 2014, they unveiled a sculpture commemorating the start of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression together.
In 2015, Lin was awarded a medal for the 70th Anniversary of the Victory of Chinese People's War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and invited to watch the military parade on the Tiananmen Rostrum.
Lin said Xi is amiable and shows great respect to non-CPC members.
At the New Year tea party and banquet held in the Great Hall of the People each year, Xi toasted all non-CPC members.
Lin said he is just a member of the forces during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and made little contribution. He felt it a great honor to be respected and encouraged by Xi.
