(ECNS) -- Temporary piers were set up in Wanggangping and Xinmin Townships in Ya'an, southwest China's Sichuan, to provide free transportation for local people after the recent earthquake jolted Luding County.
Eleven firefighters and four speedboats have been arranged to serve natives.
The free speedboat takes seven minutes to travel 10 kilometers each way, and there are nearly 40 trips every day.
Within a month, free speedboats have made 2,106 round trips, with 187.3 tons of materials transported and over 6,750 people transferred.
At present, free water transport service is still on for trips of local residents.
