An expansive Phaius tonkinensis flora was found in Guangxi Nonggang National Nature Reserve, where more than 200 orchids bloomed in freshening fragrance. Phaius tonkinensis is a rare species of orchid under the orchid family. Standing 20-60cm tall with ivory buds and reddish brown petals, it usually grows in karst valleys and thick humus on slopes. The flower is distributed in a narrow strip of area. Records show it has only been discovered in northern Vietnam and karst areas of Chongzuo and Baise of China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
