(ECNS) -- Two wild Siberian tigers were spotted in a village in Hunchun City, northeast China's Jilin Province on Tuesday. Two tigers wandered on the road for about twenty minutes.
Siberian tiger, known as Amur tiger, is an endangered species. Siberian tigers mainly live in eastern Russia, Northeast China and the northern part of the Korean Peninsula.
Police informed villagers to close their doors and windows at home to prevent being hurt.
Police also captured a wild Amur leopard on a road on Monday.
The leopard was around 1.5 to 2 meters in length. According to the police, this is the first time the wild Amur leopard has been spotted in the local area. They speculated that the leopard may forage for food as the weather turned cold.
