Folk firefighting customs were unveiled Tuesday at a firefighting culture festival in Pingnan County, south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The folk fire brigade used the traditional manpower water tank to carry out high-altitude and long-range fire fighting competitions. Firefighters were holding hoses and spraying water during competitions. In less than ten seconds, fire on two cages hung in the air was put out.
The custom in Pingnan County has a history of more than 180 years. It was added to China's fifth batch of intangible cultural heritage items in 2021.
