Largest-thrust integrated solid rocket motor unveiled at 14th Airshow China

The 14th China International Aviation and Aerospace Exhibition (Airshow China 2022) opened in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province on Tuesday.

The integrated solid rocket motor with the world's strongest thrust, longest working time and the highest impulse-to-mass ratio was unveiled in the outdoor exhibition area. The solid rocket was independently developed by the Academy of Aerospace Solid Propulsion Technology of China, available for engineering application.

With a diameter of 3.5 meters and a maximum thrust of 500 tons, the motor adopts multiple advanced technologies such as a high-pressure overall design and a high-performance fiber composite shell.

The motor succeeded in its trial run in October 2021.
