The first phase of the Lijiang tour train project, which links UNESCO world cultural heritage site Lijiang Old Town and the national 5A scenic spot Yulong Snow Mountain, started trial operations in Lijiang city of southwest China's Yunnan Province on Monday.
With a length of 20.47 kilometers, the first phase of the project is the first urban rail transit line in Lijiang. Upon the line's formal operation, it can help preserve the ecological environment of the snow mountain.
The trains to run on this line will travel all the way through multiple tourist sites including Yushui Village, Dongba Valley and Ganhaizi Meadow, as well as internet famous photo spots.
It is planned to put into 16 trains, with two types of first-class and second-class seats, which can meet the differentiated needs of tourists.
