Ancient tombs dating back to about eight hundred years ago were unearthed in Taiyuan, capital of north China's Shanxi Province, according to Taiyuan Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology.
These tombs date back to Jin dynasty (266-420), Yuan dynasty (1271–1368), Ming dynasty (1368-1644) and Qing dynasty (1636–1912) respectively.
Frescos, twelve tombs, sixteen pieces of porcelain and other funerary objects were also discovered in the tombs.
This finding provided evidence for learning funeral culture in ancient times in the region.
