The Grand Bazaar pedestrian street in Urumqi, capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region reopened on Sunday.
In a handicraft shop, the staff prepared for reopening in the morning. Dozens of cultural and creative products, including silk scarves, Effendi puppets and traditional Uyghur instruments have been displayed.
The Grand Bazaar, a cluster of Islamic culture, architecture, ethnic commerce, entertainment and catering, is a window for visitors to get a taste of the region's colorful cultures. Covering an area of 100,000 square meters, the Grand Bazaar is home to over 3,300 stores, with more than 6,000 employees.
The Grand Bazaar is also staying on guard. Staff go through several rounds of disinfection in the street and shops every day.Temperature checks are mandatory for anyone entering the area. People also wear masks and get alcohol spray on their hands.
