Asia's largest offshore oil production platform is now fully operational, China National Offshore Oil Corp (CNOOC) said on Wednesday.
The 160-meter-tall, 30,000-tonne Enping 15-1 is by far Asia's heaviest and best-equipped platform. Peak daily oil output will reach around 5,000 metric tons during the second half of this year, and is expected to inject further momentum to the economic development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area while further ensuring the country's energy security, the company said.
It marks that China's design, construction and installation capabilities of super large offshore oil and gas production facilities has reached advanced international standards.
