New tunnel and Cross Bay Bridge officially opens

The Tseung Kwan O-Lam Tin Tunnel and the Cross Bay Link officially opened to the public on Sunday. The Tseung Kwan O Cross Bay Bridge, the main project of the Cross Bay Link, was built by the China Road and Bridge Corp., which took over four years.

The bridge is the first marine viaduct in Hong Kong with a carriageway, a footpath, a cycle track and viewing platforms at the same time. The tunnel and the connecting bridge are expected to help commuters save around 20 minutes when they travel between Lohas Park and Kwun Tong during rush hour.
