A railway linking Yinchuan and Lanzhou, major cities in northwest China, was fully operational with the opening of its last section from Yinchuan to Zhongwei on Thursday.
The Yinchuan–Lanzhou high-speed railway is 431 kilometers long. Travel time between Lanzhou and Yinchuan will be shortened to 2 hours and 56 minutes.
Yinchuan-Lanzhou high-speed railway is one of the main corridors of China's "eight vertical and eight horizontal" high-speed railway network. Its full operation also improves the railway network in western China, benefits people living along the line, and is significant for promoting regional development and rural revitalization.
