Beijing Municipal Ecology and Environment Bureau held a press conference on Wednesday to introduce Beijing's air quality in 2022.
Last year, the average density of PM2.5 in Beijing dropped to 30 micrograms per cubic meter, a record low and meeting the national air quality standards for two consecutive years, said Liu Baoxian, head of the Beijing Municipal Ecological and Environmental Monitoring Center.
In 2022, Beijing had 286 days with good air quality, almost the same as in 2021, and nearly 80 percent of days last year. Among them, there were 138 days with fairly good air quality. Beijing only saw three days with severe pollution, five fewer than in 2021.
