Foreign investors in China view COVID response policy adjustment timely, effective

Foreign investors in China on Tuesday attended a briefing on China's COVID response policy.

"Two months ago, many of the governments, media and even some international organizations were criticizing China for not opening up, and then the moment China opened up, the same governments are criticizing China now again, so we are confused. Were these opinions are based on medical science or whether it is just political play?" One of the foreign investors asked at the briefing.

Liang Wannian, head of the Expert Group of the Epidemic Response and Disposal Leading Group of the National Health Commission explained, "China's policy should be based on science. We should view the prevention and control measures taken by different countries scientifically. We should evaluate them from a scientific point of view, instead of with political intentions." He added that China's COVID-19 prevention and control measures are in line with China's reality.

"The development of the policy in China over the past months or so has been very positive. We see China is ready to go," said Jacques De Vos, an executive director of Pusheng Huachang Business Consulting Co., Ltd, "The Chinese government has always been very good in planning and in managing any crisis. We see the is now with COVID as well, so we see it how the party and also the government has been protecting the lives of people."

Pierre Mirochnikoff, vice-president of the French Chamber of Commerce in China said the small and medium enterprises have been impacted in the past three years because they had no cash flow. "It was very difficult to get more cash flow. I hope now the reopening will be great for the Chinese economy," He added.
