In Loude town, Taian, traditional Shandong pancakes are made in various shapes of flowers with different colors and tastes, gaining increasing popularity over the years.
Zhang Ping, a woman born in the 1980s in Loude township, can turn them into beautiful flowers, breathing new life into the traditional technique.
Loude pancake is a well-known delicacy in Taian City, east China's Shandong Province.
"The pancake must be moderately soft. It should neither be too dry nor too soft," said Zhang, "We use glue made of sticky rice and honey to join the pancake pieces, then roll it around a rod."
There are more than 4,500 pancake enterprises in Loude Town, with an output value exceeding 1 billion yuan (about $147.6 million), helping more than 10,000 villagers increase their incomes through pancake making skills.
