A dragon boat race was held on land in Shufu County, Kashgar Prefecture, in northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to celebrate the upcoming Lantern Festival. The race was 100 meters long and rowers were divided into eight groups.
Rowers holding wooden sticks, instead of paddles, tried hard to move their special land boats as fast as they could.
The bottom of the special land boat is equipped with a pulley that can move on land. The boat's rudder is connected to the shaft at the bottom so that rowers can easily control the direction.
The dragon boat race on land promotes the diversified development of dragon boat races.
