At 6 a.m. on Monday, the first train to Lo Wu station left and took the first batch of cross-border passengers to Lo Wu station of MTR. At 6.30 a.m., the Lo Wu checkpoint was put into use again. Many passengers queued to pass the gates.
All border checkpoints between Hong Kong and the mainland reopened. Three land crossings closed to passengers for three years reopened on Monday, including Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau and Heung Yuen Wai.
