Chinese travel agencies are preparing for the resumption of outbound group tour services starting from Monday, with the first batch of tourists set out for countries including Thailand and Laos departing from east China's Shanghai.
At 7 a.m., Zhou Weihong, deputy general manager of China Spring Tour, arrived at Pudong Airport. Zhou, as one of 24 Chinese tourists in the first outbound group tour, said she would choose Phuket as her first destination after resuming outbound group tours on a pilot basis.
China Spring Tour, together with the Shanghai Office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, held a welcoming ceremony for the first group of outbound tourists to Phuket at Pudong Airport. Dressed in traditional Thai dress, staff members warmly greeted the guests and presented every tourist with a phone card that allows them to access the Internet in Thailand and flowers.
