A ferry from Jinmen County, which is administered by Taiwan, arrived in Quanzhou, east China's Fujian Province, at Friday noon, carrying 30 passengers.
Ferry services between Quanzhou and Jinmen County resumed on Friday after being suspended for nearly three years due to the COVID-19 epidemic.
In order to ensure the safe operation of the ferry, Quanzhou maritime administration dispatched two law enforcement boats to escort the passenger ship.
There will be two round trips per week between Quanzhou and Jinmen.
The routes are an important means for people to travel between the coastal areas of Fujian and Jinmen. Since its opening in the 2000s, more than 29,000 trips have been operated, with 1.39 million passengers, half of whom are from Taiwan.
