A total of 58 tombs of the Tang Dynasty (618-907) have been discovered at a cemetery site in Datong City, north China's Shanxi Province, announced by Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology on Friday.
306 pieces (sets) of various funerary objects, including pottery, porcelain, and copper, were discovered. The excavation is of great significance to the study of politics, economy, culture, official systems and funeral customs in the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
