China speed up efforts to build natural reserves

Wang Guanghua, minister of Natural Resources, said during the two sessions on Sunday that the ministry would continue to gear up the efforts in terms of national park construction.

Last year, China established the Three-River-Source National Park, the Giant Panda National Park, the Northeast China Tiger and Leopard National Park, the Hainan Tropical Forests National Park, and the Wuyishan National Park. This year, the ministry will also focus on building new national parks to protect the Yellow River Estuary, Qinling Mountains and Asian elephants.
