Human activities millions of years ago confirmed at Yeyuan site in Shaanxi

Shaanxi Provincial Archaeology Society announced its Top 6 list of Shaanxi archeological discoveries for 2022 on Sunday.

One of 2022's most eye-catching discoveries for the public was the stone wares unearthed at Yeyuan site in Luonan County, northwest China's Shaanxi Province.

The unearthed items included stone scrapers, sharp tools, chopping tools, and hand axes. Excavation confirmed that ancient humans existed in Luonan area millions years ago and cultural exchanges between humans in different regions during the Paleolithic Period.
