A freight train carrying cloth departed from Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on Sunday, bound for Tashkent, capital city of Uzbekistan.
It was the first freight train to transport cargo from Kashgar to Tashkent, according to the local government.
It will take the train around 12 days to complete the 4,500-kilometer journey.
Upon arrival in Tashkent, the cargo will soon be transported to Central Asian countries, such as Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and more.
