Beijing Half Marathon 2023 kicks off

The 2023 Beijing International Running Festival -- Beijing Half Marathon 2023 started from Tian'anmen Square on Sunday. 　

There were men's and women's half marathons with about 20,000 participants. More than 50,000 people from 27 countries and regions, including China, Japan, the United States, Germany, France, Canada, Spain, India, South Korea and Singapore, signed up since  registration began on March 15. 　

After fierce competition, a Kenyan runner won the race in 59 minutes and 37 seconds, improving the marathon's record by 5 minutes and 16 seconds.
