Two steppe fires broke out, spreading across China's northern borders from Mongolia and Russia on Thursday afternoon, according to the Inner Mongolia Fire Department.
More than 300 firefighters and 50 vehicles had been deployed from Inner Mongolia by Thursday night.
One of the two fires spread across the border to the New Barag Right Banner in China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and the other spread southward.
The overall situation of the fire has been under control as of Friday morning. The firefighters are still patrolling along the border in case the fire breaks out again.
