Chongqing generates electricity by using citizens' footsteps

Located in Chongqing's Tongliang District, a piezoelectric pavement was displayed at the Yuquan integrated optical storage and charging station.

According to the staff, the pavement converts the kinetic energy generated by walking into electricity. It is an interesting demonstration of popular science, showing that "walking can generate electricity." 　

According to reports, citizens walking around the piezoelectric pavement can generate 0.02 degrees of electricity. Since its launch in 2022, the equipment has generated more than 130 kilowatt-hours of electricity. In addition, the exhibition hall also displayed electric bicycles. It can generate electricity while people use it to keep fit.
