China's May Day box office exceeds 1.5 billion yuan

China's box office amassed around 1.52 billion yuan (220 million U.S. dollars) with 37.4 million people viewed over the five-day period ending Wednesday, the third-highest for the holiday box office in history, following that of 2019 and 2021. 　

Topping the holiday sales chart was comedy "Godspeed" with 513 million yuan, or nearly 34 percent of the total.
