Located in south China's Guangdong Province, the Pazhou Ferry Terminal was put into operation on Thursday. Passengers now can travel between Hong Kong and Guangzhou by ferry within two hours following the launch of two new ferry routes between Pazhou Ferry Terminal and Hong Kong International Airport or China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui.
The terminal has three floors. The first floor has been used for check-in and security, the second for outbound travelers, and the third for inbound passengers. John Lee Ka-chiu, Hong Kong Chief Executive, said that the connection between Pazhou and Hong Kong International Airport demonstrates the complementary advantages of the Greater Bay Area.
"The new route can give full play to the unique advantage of Hong Kong's international flight network and help the Canton Fair become internationalized. This can also enhance the development and competitiveness of the Greater Bay Area," he added.
