China's express delivery industry had handled more than 40 billion parcels this year as of Thursday, 128 days and 24 days earlier than the 40 billion milestone reached in 2019 and 2022, according to data from the State Post Bureau. During the just-concluded May Day holiday, the country collected around 1.5 billion parcels, up by 11.6 percent year-on-year. The number of parcels delivered during the period reached almost 1.6 billion, up by 8.8 percent from last year. The express delivery sector has maintained good momentum this year, with the number of parcels processed increasing each month, showing people's confidence in consumption and positive economy performance.
