A mountain carving themed on the Cizhou kiln has been unveiled at Fengfeng mining area in Handan, north China's Hebei Province.
The kilometer long mountain carving featured the unique history of the Cizhou kiln and the 72 firing procedures of porcelains at Cizhou kiln. The long history of Cizhou pottery firing began 7,000 years ago.
"This place used to be a nearly vertical exposed rock mass. We sculpted and beautified the mountain through a series of processes, such as clearing gravel, hanging mesh for reinforcement, guniting, welding, carving, plastering and coloring. It's a comprehensive ecological restoration and cultural tourism development project that integrates mountain management and cultural tourism," said Zhang Yongjun, Head of the Transportation Bureau in Fengfeng Mining District.
