The "Optics Valley Photon" air rail train made a test run on Thursday in Wuhan, central China's Hubei Province.
The air rail tourist line project is located in the state-level East Lake High-tech Development Zone, more widely known as the Optics Valley of China. With a planned total length of 26.7 kilometers, it will support tourism in the area.
"It is a tourist route. The design focuses on presenting the Optics Valley Ecological Corridor to travelers, reflecting the concept of green ecology." said Wang Honggang, project manager of "Optics Valley Photon" Air Rail Train.
The air rail train can effectively use urban space resources. It can serve daily commuting to alleviate transportation pressure while be used for sightseeing. Designed for both commuting and sightseeing, it utilizes the advantages of the 3D air traffic, and has a 270°sightseeing view, which will bring passengers a new riding experience and become a flowing scenery in the air and a new tourist attraction in the city.
The air rail train has been put into trial operation, and will be built into an "aerial viewing platform" for the Optics Valley Ecological Corridor.
