The press center of the China-Central Asia Summit held its first news conference on Tuesday in Xi'an, capital of Northwest China's Shaanxi Province.
Yu Jun, deputy director-general of the Foreign Ministry's Department of European-Central Asian Affairs, said that although the China-Central Asia mechanism started late, it pays attention to pragmatism and respects the aspirations of Central Asian countries, which has won the support and welcome of Central Asian countries.
Yu stressed that China-Central Asia cooperation is not targeted at any third party, nor does it intend to compete with other mechanisms. China is willing to support anything conducive to regional stability and development and measures conducive to shared prosperity in the region.
