In early summer, a thousand-year-old lychee tree in Xuzhou District, Yibin City, Sichuan Province, came to life again, with dense fruit hanging all over its branches. This ancient lychee tree with more than 1,500 years of age has a circumference of 5.6 meters and a height of 16 meters.
The last time when It bore fruit was 11 years ago in 2012. In 1958, it was identified by experts as being planted before the Tang Dynasty (618-907).
In 2019, it was identified by Sichuan Provincial People's Government as a first-class ancient tree, and was listed for protection by Xuzhou District People's Government of Yibin City.
