Bill Gates praises China's remarkable innovation achievements in speech

Bill Gates, the founder of the Gates Foundation, delivered a speech in Beijing on Thursday, lauding China's remarkable innovation achievements. 　

Gates said China has made tremendous achievements in reducing poverty and improving public health. He expressed hope that China can play a greater role in helping the world, especially African countries, address challenges. 　

He specifically praised renowned Chinese scientist Yuan Longping, known as the "Father of Hybrid Rice" for developing the world's first cross-bred rice.
