"Taihang," the world's first all-in-one machine for girder replacement, transport and erection was put into operation on Tuesday in Huanghua of Cangzhou City, north China's Hebei Province.
The girder replacement was completed within 4 hours in Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway, an important coal transport corridor in China, increasing efficiency for 3 times.
"Taihang can carry prefabricated girders and move to the exact position for replacement," said Wu Jingpeng, staff of China Railway Fifth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd, "It is applicable to various complex cases, and needs much less work steps and labor, bringing more than 3 times higher efficiency of girder replacement than any traditional method."
Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway is the second largest west-to-east coal transport corridor in China, and Huanghua Port as the destination is the largest coal port in China, according to Yu Guowang, deputy General Manager of CHN Energy Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway Co., Ltd.
"Shuozhou-Huanghua Railway has delivered more than 4.4 billion tons coal so far. The application of "Taihang" effectively mitigated the impact of girder replacement on the operation of the railway, providing a stronger guarantee for the energy artery's safe and stable delivery," Yu added.
