Hainan's round-the-island tourist highway to open by the end of December

The roadbed of the main line of Hainan's round-the-island tourist highway was completed on Friday. The construction of the remaining seven special-structured bridges has been carried out smoothly. 　

Up to now, the project's total investment has been completed by 11.23 billion yuan, accounting for 72% of the total budget investment. 　

The tourist highway is expected to be completed and opened to traffic by the end of this December. 　

To boost tourism, the scenic highway around the tropical island will link existing roads in 12 coastal cities and counties, such as Haikou, Qionghai, Wanning, and Sanya, and pass through cliffs, wetlands, windmills, coconut groves, estuaries, countryside, and other characteristic landscapes. 　

The total length of the main line is 988.2 kilometers. Along the route, 40 leisure stations are planned.
