Chengdu City in southwest China's Sichuan Province has started a loving program, offering free drinking water to outdoor workers, including sanitation workers, traffic police officers, construction workers, and couriers.
"Besides us, many people in Chengdu are participating in this program. Citizens donate mineral water every day so that outdoor workers couldn't be thirsty," said the person in charge of the program.
Since July, Chengdu has been experiencing hot weather, with the highest temperature exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. It poses great challenges to people who work outdoors.
