Herdsmen drove horses to gallop in the river, with their hoofs flying and water splashing, presenting a shocking scene of "heavenly horses bathing in the river" in Zhaosu County, northwest China's Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region on Monday.
Located in the Ili River Valley, Zhaosu County is known as the "land of heavenly horses." Thanks to its long horse-raising history, the place has accumulated a broad foundation of horse breeding and formed a rich equine culture.
Zhaosu is also the county with the largest number of horses raised in the country. In recent years, Zhaosu County has been vigorously developing tourism based on the modern horse industry, broadening the income channels of local people.
