Summer oranges have entered the harvest season and peak sales period in Zigui county, central China's Hubei Province.
Local farmers have been busy picking and transporting oranges with the help of conveyors, drones and other technological means.
Villagers operated drones to transport newly-picked oranges. Overcoming the logistical challenges posed by the mountains, Zigui County is soaring to new heights with aerial drones to help with the transportation of summer oranges. Farmers transported oranges via orchard transporter on mountains, which greatly improved efficiency.
Zigui County has a suitable geographical location and climate for citrus cultivation in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.
Covering over 26,667 hectares, the county's summer orange cultivation yields more than 1 million metric tons annually. The annual output value reached nearly 2.74 billion dollars (20 billion yuan), benefiting nearly 260,000 people.
