Saola, the ninth typhoon of this year, is moving northwest and approaching Guangdong and Fujian provinces, with the wind and waves in Fujian's Xiamen gradually increasing.
The Xiamen-Kinmen, Xiamen-Zhangzhou, Xiaman-Wuyu Island, and all passenger ferry routes have been suspended starting from 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. The Xiamen-Gulangyu ferry route will be suspended in time according to the city's emergency response level.
There are 829 vessels in the port of Xiamen (excluding fishing boats and township vessels). Recreational activities, such as yachts and sailing boats, have all been suspended.
All vessels and tugs of Xiamen Maritime Safety Administration are on emergency standby and ready to deal with maritime emergencies.
