Ancient rural house in Fujian turns into cultural complex

Gucuo, or ancient houses in Fuzhou dialect, is a unique cultural heritage in east China's Fujian Province. Songkou, a historical and cultural ancient town in Yongtai County in Fuzhou city, has attracted visitors from across China in recent years after a supply and marketing cooperative there was transformed into a cultural complex which involves dining, gift selling, wine making and event planning. 　

Songkou Supply and Marketing Cooperative was an ancient house in disrepair for many years, and was designed and renovated in 2017. It is a mechanism to distribute products and commodities and plays an essential role in developing rural economy. 　

The Songkou cooperative has witnessed brisk business since it opened in January 2022. The sales volume in the first year reached 600,000 yuan (approximately $82,000), bringing benefits to local agricultural producers.
