China's 'pole of cold' begins residential heating

Genhe City, known as China's "Pole of Cold" in the northernmost tip of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, has provided residential heating since Thursday.　The heating period usually lasts up to nine months. As the locals welcome the start of autumn, the temperatures have dropped below zero degrees Celsius.
