Rail transit Line 18 in southwest China's Chongqing entered trial operation without passengers on Wednesday.
Staff members will conduct repeated verification of various technical parameters, equipment systems and functional safety by simulating the actual operating environment over the next three months, and the line is expected to be completed and open to traffic by the end of this year.
Line 18 passes through Yuzhong District, Jiulongpo District, Banan District and Dadukou District, with a total length of about 29 kilometers and 19 stations, further facilitating travel for more than 600,000 citizens.
Line 18 adopts a permanent magnet motor traction system that makes it lighter, more efficient and less noisy than the traditional system under the same conditions.
