Publishing, printing and distribution companies in Zhuozhou, Hebei Province, resumed production after suffering serious flooding in August.
Affected by the previous floods, a total of 213 publishing, printing and distribution companies in Zhuozhou suffered varying degrees of losses.
The local government established corporate service groups, and recycled soaked paper to help the companies resume production. In a workshop of a printing company in Zhuozhou, workers were carrying out production operations. According to Wang Fang, the person in charge of a company, the company specialized in the design and printing of paper products, and bookbinding. Earlier, some orders were delayed due to flooding. After the water level fell, the company immediately organized personnel to prepare for resumption such as disinfection and dredging. The company is now back in production.
It is understood that after the flood, Zhuozhou held a bank-enterprise matchmaking meeting for publishing, printing and distribution companies. Financial institutions introduced policies such as loan extension, free interest, and interest reduction to solve corporate funding problems. The city also coordinated paper mills, pulp mills and other enterprises to recycle soaked paper and help disaster-stricken enterprises return funds. Up to now, a total of 135 publishing, printing and distribution companies in Zhuozhou have resumed work and production. The return-to-work rate reached 63.4%.
