A maglev train running at 600 kilometers per hour has been displayed at the 2023 World Manufacturing Convention that kicked off Wednesday in Hefei, capital of east China's Anhui Province.
The train has employed magnetic levitation, or "maglev," which uses an electrified magnetic field to propel objects at high speeds. The whole train can run above the track with no physical contact between the rail and the body, which produce no friction.
The spacious vehicle is equipped with adjustable seats, intelligent luggage storage, and entertainment systems. The whole vehicle adopts intelligent unmanned driving. Each railway carriage can hold over 100 passengers.
"We know that the maximum operating speed of bullet trains is about 350 kilometers per hour. Airplanes generally fly between 800 and 900 kilometers per hour. The maglev trains can fill the speed gap between bullet trains and aircraft, offering more choices for passengers and improving traveling efficiency," a staff member of CRRC Corporation Limited said.
